This thread on a message board, really pisses me off. It's talking about a 12 year old girl that became pregnant by a 27 year old man. Her parents thought the guy was 17. Anyway, it's mostly the replies on this board that bothers me. Some saying they would force their 12yr old daughter to give birth without medication, if it had been their daughter. That in my opinion is sick. I think that makes them nearly as bad a the statutory rapist. In my opinion the choice in whether to continue that pregnancy should be up the the girl, after seeing a doctor. I also have a problem with people saying that they would adopt their daughters baby, without even putting her feelings into consideration.
I became pregnant with L.K. when I was 16, I made all the important choices. It was not up to my mom or anyone else. If I had wanted an epidural when I was in labor, I could have gotten one without my moms permission. I chose not to get one because of all of the horror stories I've heard about them. Yes, 12 is a bit different than 16, however it is her body and should be her choice. If my mom dared try to tell me I could have no pain medication, I would have laughed at her.
I'm really frustrated with people saying stupid shit lately. People seem to think only teenagers make irresponsible parents, and should be punished. Honestly I've seen more responsible teen moms, than I have adult moms. Any parent that would allow their daughter to have a horrible birth experience just to teach her a lesson, in my opinion should be tortured and shot. Giving birth is painful enough without having to deal with assholes.
I'm in a bad mood now, so I think I will go overdose on peanutbutter crackers. That is if the kids are willing to share.
